GTB / ISTQB Meeting of Members

Düsseldorf, April 2007 - At the meeting of the GTB e.V members, which took place during the 12th Software and Systems Quality Conference (SQC), Tilo Linz (Chairman imbus AG) has been confirmed as chairman for a further two years. Amongst his main objectives for the next two year, Tilo Linz named the increased recognition of the Certified Tester training and of the GTB itself. Under Tilo’s leadership the GTB has developed within the framework of the 33 member International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) to one of the most successful boards after the originating UK board. Horst Pohlmann (Hella KGaA Hueck & Co.) was also confirmed as vice chairman of the GTB.

The GTB was also host for the meeting of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board’s delegates, which took place on the day before the GTB meeting. New elections were also on the agenda of this meeting. Rex Black (American Software Testing Qualifications Board) and Eric van Veenendaal (Dutch Testing Qualifications Board) were confirmed in their positions as chairman and vice-chairman. Additionally, Chris Carter (Australia / New Zealand Testing Board) was elected as ISTQB secretary and Horst Pohlmann (German Testing Board) as treasurer. The ISTQB expanded further by welcoming two further boards, from Lithuania and Italy.

The GTB and ISTQB meetings took place on the fringe of the 12th Software and Systems Quality Conference (SQC). As ever, it was a successful event with excellent expert presentations. The three-day exhibition brought the various themes to the attendees in a practical and tangible manner. The social event in the LTU Arena rounded off the conference.
